Acier font brings this connection to the metal from which it gets its name (NB: “Acier” means “Steel” in French), just as Jérôme Peignot noticed: “Very few print works are effective. such in connecting the physical and graphic worlds”.
The revival of Jean-Baptiste Levée was the first to bring Acier into digital form. After carefully studying the original samples, Levée redrawn the two styles (Noir & Gris) from scratch, maintaining the two optical dimensions and adding Solid, Outline, and Strokes fonts to apply color effects.
